A BILL to amend article four, chapter eighteen-a of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
eight-j, relating to providing an increase in pay grade for
certain kindergarten aides employed by county boards of
education.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That article four, chapter eighteen-a of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section
eight-j, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 4. SALARIES, WAGES AND OTHER BENEFITS.
§18A-4-8j. Special pay grade increase for kindergarten aides.

(a) Notwithstanding the provisions of section eight-a of this
article, after being satisfactorily employed for one school year in
a kindergarten class the pay grade of any classroom aide in a
kindergarten class shall be increased one pay grade.

(b) The adjustment in pay grade provided in this section
applies only as long as the employee is assigned to a kindergarten
class.

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to increase, by one, the pay
grade for aides employed in kindergarten classes.
